Sean McVay Approval Poll: Post-Training Camp Edition

New, comments

The Rams rookie head coach has made it through his first training camp. How’d he do?

NFL: Los Angeles Rams Training Camp Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

From the Aaron Donald holdout to Dominique Easley’s ACL injury to the blockbuster Sammy Watkins trade, Sean McVay’s first training camp as a head coach came with a whole lot of peaks and valleys. It was a wild start for McVay, but he seems to be pressing all of the right buttons and saying the right things - which is refreshing for Rams fans used to Jeff Fisher’s bullshit.

While the general consensus around Rams fans was one of optimism heading into the preseason, the trolls were already out in full force in our pre-camp poll.

A lot has changed since that poll closed. The aforementioned Watkins-E.J. Gaines swap, Cooper Kupp and Josh Reynolds looking very nice in preseason action, and seemingly half of defensive starters not playing much - if at all - in the preseason.

That’s a lot for any veteran coach to process in a training camp - much less a rookie head coach who happens to be the youngest coach in modern NFL history. To his credit though - McVay has kept his composure and his sights focused on the Colts this weekend.

What say you Rams fans? Do you think the Rams kept the right 53? Is McVay doing enough to keep the team focused? Will calling plays become a distraction from head coaching duties?

Poll

On a scale of 1-5 with 1 being horrible and 5 being Hall of Fame worthy, how would you grade McVay’s first pre-season?
