Los Angeles Rams CB Troy Hill has officially been added to the active roster following the end of his two-game suspension.
To make way for Hill on the 53-man roster, the Rams waived CB Kevin Peterson. The club has also said goodbye to OLB Cassanova McKinzy, who was on the practice squad and will likely add Peterson to that slot if he clears waivers.
An undrafted free agent that originally signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, Hill has been with the Rams since the end of the 2015. Last year, Hill had 38 tackles while also being a major factor on special teams.
With the possibility that CB Kayvon Webster is still not yet healthy enough to play with his nagging shoulder injury on the injury report, it looks as though Hill is being positioned to fill in that gap that CB Nickell Robey-Coleman struggled to fill on the outside last Sunday.
The official line is that Head Coach Sean McVay is still evaluating how Hill will fit into this week’s gameplan.
It could be said that Hill provides better pass protection than Peterson, but it’s still not the ideal situation for the defensive outlook of this upcoming Thursday night matchup against the San Francisco 49ers
