From 2010-2016, McVay worked his way up the Washington coaching ladder starting as the assistant tight ends coach up to tight ends coach to offensive coordinator. Now a first-year head coach for the Rams, he's looking to take advantage of that experience and get the Rams off to their first 2-0 start since 2001.
And that's the real allure here. The novelty of Sean McVay. The return of Aaron Donald. The greenness of the grass in a post-Jeff Fisher landscape. The coveting of validation of McVay's renovation of the offense and the rejuvenation of legitimacy for QB Jared Goff and the continued belief in Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips making good on the talent on the defensive side of the ball.
It's there for the taking in a fashion we haven't seen for this franchise in a long, long, long time.
Are the Rams ready to begin turning the page? Is Sean McVay capable of getting them ready by this point?
Is the future now?
