2017 Los Angeles Rams Training Camp: August 2 Practice Recap

More minor injuries for the Rams, but good news on Goff and for the defense.

NFL: Los Angeles Rams Training Camp Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Rams were clearly trying to not get demoralized by losing DE Dominique Easley for the season.

Best nugget here is Goff forging chemistry with his TEs.

Injuries

This is..... not good. Hopefully sitting Tavon is more of a precaution than something that lingers. He can’t afford to miss time this year. Ebukam being out further hampers the defense while it was a relief to hear that Quinn’s absence wasn’t due to an injury.

McVay’s Offense

Will Sam Rogers replace Cory Harkey? Hard to say at this point, but his work ethic is turning heads at Rams camp.

Pharoh Cooper getting a chance to impress his coach - up close and personal.

New Rams LT Andrew Whitworth seems impressed with his new QB.

Goff has long been known to be more comfortable in the shotgun, so it’s not much of a surprise to see him excelling in that aspect of McVay’s offense.

Gurley showing off his pass catching skills. McVay is surely going to be utilizing him more in the pass game than Fisher did.

Wade’s Defense

Gotta believe that was somewhat of a motivational speech after the DL lost Dominique Easley for the year yesterday.

Speaking of the DL, seems like Louis Trinca-Pasat is getting the first shot to replace Easley.

File this under.... odd. Neither of those players should be playing with the 1s.

Rookie, meet Pro-Bowler. Good to see Tru is putting in 110% this early in camp.

The DBs know that they are fighting for their future with the Rams. With luck, the Rams will be able to reap the benefits of that competition once the regular season kicks off.

Bones’ Special Teams

Johnny Hekker just doing punter things and doing them really, really well.
