Sean Mannion was recognized by ProFootballFocus for his Week One performance in the preseason last week. According to the football analytics website, Mannion had the best performance of any NFC West quarterback last week.

PFF graded him an 81.4, narrowly beating out San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback Matt Barkley.

While it’s only Week One of the preseason, and Mannion’s only notable competition was Matt Barkely and Seattle’s back-up quarterback and worst running back option, the exhibition accolade should not go unnoticed.

Mannion completed 72 percent of his passes (18-of-25), with three dropped passes. He also accomplished that completion rate in a game where he undertook pressure for a healthy chunk of the night. His offensive line allowed him to be hit nine times while being sacked twice.
