LA Rams Vs. Dallas Cowboys: Live Open Thread

The Sean McVay era begins as we head toward Year 2 in LA.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

It's time.

The 2017 preseason for the Los Angeles Rams begins tonight in their preseason opener in the Coliseum against the Dallas Cowboys, their preseason opener opponent from a year ago. Familiar foe and whatnot.

We've got 10 key Rams out tonight, propelling a couple names up the depth chart. Additionally, with DE Dominique Easley out for the season and DE Aaron Donald's holdout now traversing from a training camp holdout to a preseason holdout, the line depth has been pushed up. New Rams WR Sammy Watkins is also watching from the sideline, so the young WRs will be able to find additional reps, accelerated by the absence of WRs Tavon Austin and Josh Reynolds.

It's also a chance for the coaches to settle in. This is an entirely new coaching staff, save for Special Teams Coordinator John Fassel and Running Backs Coach Skip Peete. So it's the first time for Head Coach Sean McVay to oversee things while calling plays as Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips oversees the defensive responsibilities.

Year two in LA is a go. Year one for Sean McVay is a go.

The 2017 Los Angeles Rams preseason is a go.
