August 10
Practice begins at 3:00pm PT
Autographs: Offensive Line
Yesterday was...special.
Yes, the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers’ joint practice at the Rams’ training camp was all about the #FightForLA. But there was also Booster Club Day and Throwback Day. It was, in essence, the soft end of training camp and the beginning of the preseason.
Today and tomorrow, the Rams will soft install their gameplan for Saturday’s matchup with the Dallas Cowboys and the final four practices of training camp, Monday through Thursday next week, will serve as a near-normal practice week before the Rams’ second game of the preseason as they head north to take on the Oakland Raiders.
Injuries
Despite the haymakers being tossed, it didn’t sound like there were any developments on this front. Even rookie WR Josh Reynolds sounded close to his return.
McVay’s O
It’s all about QB Jared Goff in 2017 and yesterday was a good sign of his growth from a year prior. He’s hardly unquestionable in what ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez called a “hit or miss” day, but he’s got greater command of his offense and he’s primed to be tested.
Wading with Wade
Time to install. The pass rush needs to be clicking and the secondary needs to tighten up. Should be a good pair of practices to really see Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips and his craft.
#FightForLA
This takes a backseat for a bit after yesterday’s peak. It’ll build back up again two weeks from Saturday when the Rams and Chargers face off in preseason game no. 3.
