2017 Rams Roster Preview: RB Aaron Green, Backing Into The Backup

Can Aaron Green make the roster again with a second great preseason showing?

As an UDFA in 2015, RB Aaron Green made the Los Angeles Rams roster by some solid showings in the preseason following a fine career at TCU. While RB Todd Gurley remains firmly entrenched as the starter, the RB position depth chart beyond him is a bit of an unknown. Green may have a leg up on his position competition on getting back on the roster.

I mean, it wouldn’t hurt to see another preseason in which Green logs 23 carries, 111 yards, 1 rushing TD, 9 receptions, 76 receiving yards, and another TD in the air in the preseason either. For the record, that was in only three preseason games.

Roster Battle

The other guys that Green will have to battle with? Newly-signed Lance Dunbar, two-year Ram Malcolm Brown, and rookie UDFAs Justin Davis and Lenard Tillery.

Expectations

Not a ton is expected out of Aaron Green, this year at least. Gurley is going to be the bell cow, and Lance Dunbar will likely be the receiving back. That only leaves 1-2 spots open for the remaining four candidates.

Chances of Making Final Roster (5/10)

SPOILER ALERT

I mean, any guy willing to jump in on a group picture with women from England, and drop the line “ayy ladies my name’s Todd Gurley” can play on my roster.
