The Los Angeles Rams have released Brian Randolph:
Rams make another roster move, waive DB Brian Randolph. Roster now down to 85 players.

A year ago, Randolph was a promising UDFA safety out of Tennessee who many saw following the footsteps of Rodney McLeod, himself a UDFA who came out of Virginia to craft a successful NFL career.
Instead, he suffered an ACL injury in the first preseason game and missed all of his rookie season and all the practice snaps (either on the 53-man or the practice squad) that he could have enjoyed.
Now, he’s a free agent.
Nearly a year ago to the day in the 2016 roster preview series, our own Sean Wilkinson gave him a 6/10 chance to make the 53-man roster, saying:
Whoever wins the last roster spot at safety will have to have to have both the ability to play in a pinch while carrying enough upside to be a long term option as well. Oh, and let's not forget special teams contributions either. I think Bryant has the physical talents to contribute on special teams and the long term promise needed, but I'm not so certain that he would be able to play this year if asked.
3k punted the chance to differentiate between Gaines and Lomax, but I think Randolph is a shade better than both. But I also think all three are below Davis, Bryant, and Alexander in the pecking order. If Randolph falls short of the final roster, I would think that he would be a prime candidate for landing on the practice squad.
Now he’s a free agent looking to do just that with another NFL team.
Here’s hoping he lands on his feet with someone, preferably outside the NFC West.
