Could this Rams team be the 2016 Miami Dolphins

A lot of experts and fans consider this to at least be a year or two before the Rams are truly heading in the right direction, but lets take that positive optimistic view and say they're not that far away. So the question that I ask, is could the Rams surprise teams like last year Dolphins team? Yeah it's possible there are some similarities between the two teams. The first obvious similarity is although Gase is 7 years older, him and McVay are both young head coaches. Players from the Dolphins praise Gase for his high energy, passion, and the way he goes about interacting with players all the same that we heard about McVay so far from players and staff. The next similarity is the underperformance of the both teams. Before 2015 season the Dolphins flirted around .500 for three seasons going 7-9, 8-8, and 8-8 before going 6-10 in 2015 with Philbin being fired in season. Before the 2016 season the Rams flirted directly under .500 for three seasons going 7-9, 6-10, and 7-9 before going 4-12 in 2016 with Fisher being fired in season. Both offenses the Dolphins in 2015 and the Rams in 2016 was bad to horrible. With the Dolphins being ranked 26th in yards and 27th in points, while the Rams was ranked dead last in both stats. Just like the Rams in 2017 the Dolphins had question marks on offense from quarterback, to running back, receiver(opposite Landry), and offensive line but as well as question marks on defense. My final point that leads me to possibly believe that the Rams are a little closer then some think, we heard numerous reports for how the Rams quitted during the season. So it's fair to ask is the Rams closer to the team from 2013-2015 who was a slightly under .500 team then the 2016 team that quit at the midway point of the season?
