Center was never a position of love for the Rams under Jeff Fisher. After Scott Wells (and the failed attempt to turn Barrett Jones into a suitable NFL player), Tim Barnes took over in 2015.
Two years (and many fumble recoveries) later and it appears that the Rams will be looking for a new center, yet again:
Rams just informed me they are releasing starting center Tim Barnes @TimBarnes62. Surprise after 32 straight starts.

For those of you who don’t recognize Matt Brei, that’s Tim Barnes agent. If you’re excited Barnes is moving on, you should also be excited a certain mustached man is gone as well:
Former Mizzou player. Rams internal evaluation had him rated as their top offensive lineman after 2015 season. https://t.co/DW6nE3fpEC

The move saves the Rams 3 million dollars.
