Report: DeMarcus Ware Visited L.A. Rams

Ware would have added a veteran presence

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

As news comes out that former Denver Broncos CB Kayvon Webster is in LA visiting the Rams, he actually wasn’t the only one. According to Field Yates of ESPN, DeMarcus Ware also met with the Rams over the weekend.

Ultimately, Ware actually decided to call it a career. Can you really blame him? He’s a sure fire hall-of-famer who has a ring, and has achieved it all in the business of the NFL. He ranks 8th overall in sacks all time in the NFL, and has been a class act on and off the field with both of the organizations he’s played with.

It would make sense that the Rams showed interest in Ware. Newly acquired DC Wade Phillips coached Ware for six seasons in total — four in Dallas and two in Denver. Ware would have been a great fit in the Rams’ new transition into the 3-4. Not only is he still a good player who offers some pass rush juice, but he could have shown guys how to approach and learn this defense. Not to mention he was a pure class act.

Ultimately, with the Rams not very close to contention, DeMarcus Ware decides to call it a career, and a great one at that.
