NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal has a list of his “fun” free agents for every team in the NFL in 2017 up today, and there’s a familiar target for the Los Angeles Rams: Washington Football Pros WR DeSean Jackson:
It's almost too easy to connect the dots. Former Washington offensive coordinator Sean McVay, desperate for a starting wideout as the Rams' head coach, brings Los Angeles native DeSean Jackson with him across the country. With Kenny Britt expected to leave L.A. in free agency and the team's highest-paid player (Tavon Austin) a gadget player, why not bring in a speedster that actually gets vertical? McVay's other starting wideout in Washington, Pierre Garcon, is also an option.
Look, at this point the Jackson/Garcon connections are going to loom large until we start getting serious indications that either of them are headed elsewhere. The ties are too obvious, the need is too overwhelming and the logic is too unavoidable.
Let’s just take this as added legitimacy in that NFL media is acknowledging the plausibility at play here.
