The Los Angeles Rams rolled out of Sunday’s game with the Arizona Cardinals with an expected victory, but it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Taking a look back at last weeks game, Sean McVay and Co. should take some lessons learned and apply them quickly with the Philadelphia Eagles rolling into LA this week.
Larry Fitzgerald vs ?
Fitz lit up the Rams secondary - even with Blaine Gabbert tossing him the rock. Regardless of how you dissect this, the Rams were flat unable to contain the future Hall of Famer
Chandler Jones vs Andrew Whitworth
Jones got the better of Whitworth on a few plays on Sunday, notching a strip-sack and several other hits in the backfield. Save for those plays though, Jones’ impact was marginalized - which is refreshing for Rams fans used to seeing Greg Robinson line up at LT.
Patrick Peterson vs Sammy Watkins
Watkins succeeded in distracting the opposing team’s top cornerback once again. He may have not made a lot of splashy plays, but in taking away the Cardinals top cover man, he opens up the rest of the field for other Rams receivers. This week, Todd Gurley was the primary benefactor.
