Here’s the final seeding in the NFC:
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Minnesota Vikings
- Los Angeles Rams
- New Orleans Saints
- Carolina Panthers
- Atlanta Falcons
So the Rams will get the Falcons at home in the wild card while the Saints and Panthers play an NFC South-only game with the Eagles and Vikings on a bye waiting for the outcomes of those two games to determine the rest of the playoffs.
It actually was a late touchdown from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that really decided the seeding. Down a point, QB Jameis Winston hit rookie WR Chris Godwin for the winning TD with just nine seconds left. That touchdown catapulted the Rams into the #3 seed with both sitting on 11 wins and the Rams holding a tiebreaker from the Week 12 win over the Saints.
And so it is. The Rams will host the Falcons in the wild card, and we’ll just have to see what goes down from there...
The NFL will likely announce the schedule for the wild card round this evening.
The schedule’s out. The Rams will play the Falcons on Saturday night at 8:15pm ET/5:15pm PT.
