Anyone still wanna try to defend the notion that the Los Angeles Rams should have played their starters against the San Francisco 49ers?
An injury-filled first half has the Rams down two touchdowns, but the score really doesn’t matter. There will be playoff football in the Coliseum next weekend regardless of the outcome of this game. That game and that result ultimately matter much, much, much more than the outcome of today’s game.
So really, we’re on injury watch. DB Blake Countess, CB Troy Hill and WR Mike Thomas all picked up knocks with Countess likely out from the concussion he suffered on a huge hit on 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin.
There’s also the matter of audition value much like a preseason game. QB Sean Mannion’s audition to this point? Not great. CB Kevin Peterson? Pretty darn good!
That all being said, we’re 30 minutes away from preparing for the playoffs.
Get ready...
