The Los Angeles Rams have the opportunity to close out the season in Week 17 at home vs a division foe in the San Francisco 49ers. Now, it’s known that the Rams aren’t going to play many of their star players. With the Rams locked in to a home game in the wild card round with the 4th seed in the NFC at worst, the Rams are happy to play whichever opponent they’re matched up with. Let’s take a look at the inactive roster today:

  • ILB Mark Barron
  • DT Aaron Donald
  • RB Todd Gurley
  • S Lamarcus Joyner
  • ILB Alec Ogletree
  • C John Sullivan
  • LT Andrew Whitworth

Sounds about right.

Here are the 49ers’ inactives:

  • DL Leger Douzable
  • DB Antone Exum Jr.
  • DL D.J. Jones
  • DL Aaron Lynch
  • WR Max McCaffrey
  • RB Jeremy McNichols
  • LB Pita Taumoepenu

Over at Niners Nation, Fooch offered the following:

The 49ers will sit Aaron Lynch, while activating Tank Carradine over Leger Douzable. I wouldn’t have minded seeing Douzable get one more activation given his strong contributions this season. As for Lynch, it’s safe to say this marks the end of his time with the 49ers once free agency begins in March.

An interesting one is Greg Mabin is active after suffering a calf injury leading up to Week 15. He was expected to compete with Dontae Johnson for playing time before the injury. The starter opposite Ahkello Witherspoon remains to be seen.
