Gurley’s monster day in Week 15 helped the Rams stomp the Seattle Seahawks in what looks like an NFC West-clinching effort. JTG racked up 152 yards on 21 carries with three touchdowns supported by another 28 yards on three receptions with one receiving touchdown to boot.
It’s Gurley’s second OPOTW designation of the year after previously earning the accolade for his big day in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys. It’s also the Rams’ seventh weekly award of the year. Along with Gurley’s two wins, QB Jared Goff won the award in Week 9 for dismantling the New York Giants. The Rams’ sole Defensive Player of the Week award went to CB Trumaine Johnson in Week 1 for his pick-six against the Indianapolis Colts. And the Rams have won the Special Teams Player of the Week award three times: K Greg Zuerlein twice in Weeks 4 and 10 and KR/PR Pharoh Cooper in Week 6.
Those accolades help reinforce why the Rams have five players in the 2018 Pro Bowl NFC starting roster and another three as alternates.
Congrats to Todd Gurley for his second OPOTW award!
