The Los Angeles Rams just announced that S Cody Davis is being placed on injured reserve and will not be available for the rest of the regular season. In his fifth year out of Texas Tech, Davis has been a valuable member of the defensive unit providing depth to the secondary when key players like S Lamarcus Joyner were out of the lineup.
So far this season, Cody Davis has had an interception, a pair of pass breakups, and 22 tackles. He has not been on the practice field since his injury in the Jacksonville Jaguars game in Week 6.
Davis joins DL Dominique Easley, TE Temarrick Hemingway, WR Bradley Marquez and running back Lenard Tillery on IR making the Rams one of the healthiest teams in the NFL yet again following 2016’s incredibly fortunate campaign.
No word yet on a corresponding move to bring the Rams’ roster back to the 53-man limit.
Everyone at Turf Show Times wishes Cody Davis a speedy recovery.
(UPDATED at 3:29pm ET)
The Rams will now promote S Isaiah Johnson from the practice squad to fill Davis’ slot. Head Coach Sean McVay said of Johnson, “I think he’s earned that opportunity.”
We’ll see who the Rams add to the practice squad.
