The Los Angeles Rams have reactivated WR Mike Thomas following his four-game suspension and subsequent roster exemption. To make room for him, the Rams released fourth-year S Maurice Alexander.

The moves extend the Rams' WR depth chart seven deep while thinning things out at the back of the defense.

Alexander was a healthy scratch in the Rams' 10-16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5. With 23 starts under his belt, Mo Al had become a fixture in the Rams' secondary. A fan favorite whose backstory as a former janitor in the Edward Jones Dome endeared him to fans after being taken 110th overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, Alexander was in a contract year. The selection of John Johnson in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft softened the job security for all of the Rams safeties going into the season as both S Rodney McLeod and S T.J. McDonald left in free agency over the last two seasons.

For Thomas, he's joining an already crowded WR group. Given WR Sammy Watkins' public displeasure last night at his involvement in the passing game, Thomas' reactivation will only add another layer of intrigue as the Rams prepare to face an up and coming Jacksonville Jaguars team on the road in Week 6.
