We back!
Joe (@3k_) and I (@MightyOrMisone) are suddenly optimistic about the Los Angeles Rams for the 2017 season. The next three weeks will tell the entire story of how we're feeling, but it's certainly looking good.
We dove right into the Rams beating the Dallas Cowboys this week and how big time the victory was for various reasons. The Rams had a legit comeback victory. They showed they weren't willing to roll over and die. And they beat a good team while doing this, a team that might end up in the playoffs.
We go on to breakdown how good RB Todd Gurley has really been. He's currently on the pace of legends. As it stands now, he's headed toward more than 2,300 yards from scrimmage and 28 touchdowns. We discuss the likelihood he can maintain this pace, what he might actually finish with, possible MVP honors, and what it will mean for the team.
Next up was QB Jared Goff. Goff at four games in can no longer be viewed as an insignificant sample size. Chances are, he's not going to have too many games where he throws for less than 200 yards. He's also showing something of a clutch gene as he's been arguably the best second half QB in football, and his first halves haven't been too shabby.
Rams HC Sean McVay is absolutely killing it. He is also on pace for some hardware as he could legit win coach of the year with the turnaround he's spearheading, and it all starts with his insane halftime adjustments. He's delivered a completely different team in the second half of every game. He's also created running lanes for Gurley no one knew was possible as well as completely changed the way the RB is used and actually — in some ways — has gone vintage Rams.
Is Gurley the new Faulk?
The defense continues to struggle but had their best half of football in the second half against Dallas. We discuss how much the Rams can get better as well as what they need to do to start games the way they start third quaters.
The Rams enter somewhat of a gauntlet over the next three weeks, so Joe and I review our preseason predictions and offer new final record projections for the Rams. All I have to say is buckle up, youre in for a surprise for the win totals we threw out there.
All this and we didnt even discuss the return of WR Mike Thomas. Yea, thats right, more weapons in this bioootch!!!!
