Rams Players Looking for a Culture Change

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Just after losing to the Arizona Cardinals, 44-6, the comments from several LA Rams during their post mortem with the press all had a similar theme “culture” and the need of changing it.

Quotes on the subject are pretty eye opening as to how deep the problems run.

Rams QB, Jared Goff:

"We need to do some things and get the culture changed, and with that comes higher standards and better players and more talent, and it just rolls. It just keeps going. It’s momentum, and I expect that to happen here.”

Goff then compared his first season with the Rams to his 1-11 season while at Cal.

“It’s pretty identical. The best part about it was that, we weeded out the people we needed to weed out,” Goff remembers. “We changed the culture in the building.”

Rams TE, Lance Kendricks:

"We just need to really have someone that can motivate us. Not that Jeff Fisher didn’t. But we need someone to motivate us, and we need someone to be on our butts when we mess up. Whether it’s each other, whether it’s the coach. Whoever it is."

Veteran OL, Rodger Saffold:

Needless to say, whoever the Rams bring in to replace Jeff Fisher is going to have to bring in sweeping changes throughout the organization. When you miss the playoffs for 12 straight years, having hit .500 just once in the process, changing the culture is a good place to start.
