NFL REACTIONS
Really happy for Sean McVay!
— Kirk Cousins (@KirkCousins8) January 12, 2017
In which the Rams responded with a flawless display of harmless trolling...
We really do like that! https://t.co/BjsMXYA5un
— Los Angeles Rams (@RamsNFL) January 12, 2017
Speaking of trolling — briefly stepping away from the hiring news for a brief second — check out P Johnny Hekker’s reaction to the news of the Chargers moving to LA...
The chargers are copy cats.
— Johnny Hekker (@JHekker) January 12, 2017
HA!!! That Hekker is a fool, and I love it. Now back to the reguarly scheduled programming....
The #Rams signed new coach Sean McVay to a 5-year contract, source said. So… he will almost be 40 then (in just a few years)
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 12, 2017
Yup that’s right, the Rams opted to show dedication to their new coach, and avoided the typical four year deal for first time coaches. Figures have yet to be disclosed...
19 QBs older than Sean McVay started an NFL game this season. pic.twitter.com/dTd4qBKvnf
— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) January 12, 2017
Sean McVay was only 9 years old during Jeff Fisher’s first 7-9 NFL season.
— Dan Rubenstein (@DanRubenstein) January 12, 2017
Two pretty interesting tweets right there, and fans might as well get used to the discussion of his age as it will be mentioned with his name every time he’s talked about from now through December...
Age is just a number, but... Sean McVay will be the same age Pete Carroll is now (65)... in 2052.
— Tim Kawakami (@timkawakami) January 12, 2017

Fan reactions are always the best. And I could do this all day...
But as we can see the Reactions are all over for the fans. Rams players are ready and excited about the hire. Rams QB Jared Goff (who met with McVay and sat in on his first interview) apparently called him a mini (Jon) Gruden — surely reminiscing on his time spent with the polarizing coach last year at Gruden’s QB Camp — and is rumored to have really hit it off with him and already built a connection.
While reactions are all over the place from the hire, if nothing else, the Rams at the very least made quite the splash by setting an NFL record for the youngest HC in history. Let’s sit back and see how he does; Here’s hoping for the best!!!
