The Los Angeles Rams have reached the final game of what has been an extremely disappointing season. Today’s tilt against the Arizona Cardinals is intriguing on several levels.
The most obvious is the Rams ongoing search for a new head coach. Just this morning, Cardinals Offensive Coordinator Harold Goodwin was named by ESPN’s Adam Schefter as likely to get an interview. Today’s matchup gives Rams fans a preview of what their team could look like if Goodwin is indeed hired.
While there are no fights for divisional standing or significant draft impacts for either team, these players will be playing strictly for pride - save for a few players who will be trying to reach performances bonuses.
I personally want to see how different individuals respond to these circumstances. How will Greg Robinson bounce back? Will Trumaine Johnson play it safe and try to avoid injury? Does John Fassel try to put his ‘stamp’ on these Rams in week 17? All things to watch for today.
While the 2016 season has been wearisome for Rams fans, we should still attempt to enjoy today’s game...it will be the last time we see them until June.
