LA Rams Release OL David Arkin, Re-Sign DL Cam Thomas

The Rams finished their 53-man just days ago. Wait, no they didn’t.

While the Los Angeles Rams finalized their 53-man roster this weekend, we’ve already got our first official transaction.

The Rams let go of OL David Arkin while bringing back DL Cam Thomas:

It’s...interesting.

We literally just got through the final episode of Hard Knocks watching fan favorite OL Eric Kush get cut in favor of Arkin. That he made way for an open roster spot mere days after the roster was initially set seems perhaps indicative that OL depth wasn’t really needed for Week 1.

Perhaps the Rams got some positive medical reports today?

On the flip side, bringing back Cam Thomas may suggest some need for DL depth mid-week. Of course...”needing” DL depth hasn’t really been a thing for the Fisherball Rams. If anything, they’ve invested so much that they don’t have room for quality even at the bottom of the D-line depth chart. That’s something you can’t say about most positions on the Rams.

As it stands, it’s a minor move for the lines as the Rams prepare to face the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football to open the 2016 season.
