The Los Angeles Rams made some changes to the back end of their 53 man roster this afternoon. The Rams added Marqui Christian, the Arizona Cardinals 5th round pick out of Midwestern State College.

Here's the corresponding roster move.
Former #Lions S Isaiah Johnson was waived by the #Rams today, per the transaction wire.

Looking at his Draft Profile, he looks like a poor man's Mark Barron. He's a box safety that won the Cliff Harris Award as nation's top small-college defensive player in 2015. Given the Rams recent history with box safeties, it's fair to wonder if Christian will be a S, a hybrid S/LB, or a developmental LB project behind Barron.
There's also gamesmanship to consider here. The Rams play the Cardinals this weekend. There's a chance that this is being done to gain some insight into the Cardinals secondary. We'll see if his small-school accolades can help him impress the coaching staff enough to stick around.
