Starting in 2015, the Rams shifted their practice schedule from the traditional Wednesday-Thursday-Friday trio to a Tuesday-Wednesday-Friday run. Much like his stance on not using the optional mandatory minicamp (which makes the Rams the only franchise not to do so), Fisher’s practice schedule is entirely unconventional.
The move allows for a full Thursday off from the practice field, but not from NFL-mandated reporting requirements. All teams, regardless of practice schedule, are required to file an injury report on Wednesday, Thursday and a final one including game status on Friday in alignment with the traditional practice schedule (this obviously being for Sunday games).
So with Monday Night Football in Week 1 leading to a short week in Week 2, this is the first opportunity the Rams have had to get back to Fisher’s new schedule he began installing in 2015.
That means today’s injury report is, as the teams calls it, “an estimation of participation as it was a player's day off.”
