Rams vs. 49ers: Bold Predictions

HOT TAKE TIME!

The Rams Will Have More Rushing Yards Than Passing Yards

In terms of yardage, the 49ers had one of the worst defenses in the NFL in 2015. This isn't the defense that carried them to the Super Bowl a few years ago. It's young and has some talented pieces, but it's a shell of it's former self.

The Rams offense isn't exactly scary, but the Todd Gurley / Tavon Austin duo will have themselves a good 'ol time - pushing the Rams rushing total past their passing yardage.

The Rams Will Force 4 Turnovers

Blaine Gabbert tore the Rams apart in week 17 last season. Greg Williams will have this defense motivated. Robert Quinn and Aaron Donald will terrorize Gabbert, forcing bad throws and a pair of fumbles.

Greg Zuerlein Will Miss at Least One Kick

Legatron has struggled with accuracy in his career, but has fared relatively well when playing in San Francisco. According to Pro Football Reference, he is 9-11 in field goal attempts. That's substantially better than his 67% average 2015 percentage, but I think nerves may get to Greg the Leg in week 1.

Tyler Higbee Starts to Earn His Nickname

Higbee impressed coaches early and often in camp, quickly showing that he can be a matchup nightmare. If he can be half as effective as Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski, Rams fans will be smiling. I think he has a handful of catches for 75 yards in his professional debut.
