Los Angeles Rams rookie franchise QB Jared Goff was expected to play from the second through the third quarter of his preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys tonight. Instead, Sean Mannion surprisingly came out in the third quarter to quarterback the team much to the concern of Rams fans.

With worries that the decision to hold Goff out could be due to injury, Fisher confirmed those worries...but perhaps in the best way possible. In his post-game interview with ESPN’s Lisa Salters, Fisher said that Goff was held out due to soreness in his non-throwing shoulder. With the media thereafter, Fisher said it might be a while for Goff to get back into action:

As it stands, we have our first official Jared Goff Injury Scare™. And let’s be real. It’s probably good to get this out of the way here in the preseason. We’ve got three more games, and as Goff isn’t even the starting QB...

There’s no rush.

We have all the time in the world.
