We’ve seen Mason’s name pop up for the wrong reasons too many times this offseason. It’s time for him to get help.

With veterans officially reporting to 2016 Los Angeles Rams Training Camp today and practice set to go tomorrow, Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher held a mandatory team meeting.

One player not in attendance? RB Tre Mason.

Since his bizarre arrest in March, police have been called to his home five teams leaving his family sincerely worried for his well-being. And while it’s fair to ask if he has played his last snap for the Rams, the concern over his personal well-being is issue no. 1.

This week alone, we’ve seen Dallas Cowboys DE Randy Gregory and Oakland Raiders OLB Aldon Smith check into rehab. So whether it’s substance-related or an issue of mental and/or behavioral health, getting Mason the help he clearly needs comes first and foremost.

Here’s hoping he gets it soon.

Mason was the Rams’ third-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft after a stellar career at Auburn. Mason supplanted Zac Stacy, who was waived by the Jets this week, as the starter midway through his rookie season finishing with 765 yards in his 12 games, nine of which he started. Mason was relegated to backup duties with the drafting of Todd Gurley #10 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, totaling 207 yards on 75 rushes in his three starts through 13 games overall.
