Report: Los Angeles Rams’ 2018 Home Game In China To Be Season Home Opener Against San Francisco 49ers

The last of the Rams’ three home games to played overseas in the next three seasons will be in China in 2018 against the 49ers per a report.

Back in March, it was reported that the Rams would sacrifice a 2018 home game to play the NFL’s first game in China.

Today, Sports Business Daily’s Don Muret is reporting based off his sources that the game will likely be the Rams’ 2018 home opener and will be against the San Francisco 49ers:

The 49ers will play the Rams in a regular-season game in China in '18, according to sources. It will most likely serve as the Rams' home opener, although no date has been determined, sources said.

The China game will the third regular season home game played abroad in as many years for the Rams.

This year, the Rams will head to London in Week 7 to play the New York Giants in Twickenham Stadium, the primary home of England's National Rugby Team. They’re scheduled to sacrifice an additional home game in 2017 as well.

The trio is part of the Rams’ focused effort to make the Rams the NFL’s "first truly global team", a much higher priority in the franchises’ overall scale than winning football games.
