Los Angeles Rams Sign TE Benson Browne, RB Terrence Magee, Release WR Kain Colter, LB Zack Hodges, Waive DT Doug Worthington

With OTAs rolling along, the Rams are shoring up the 90-man roster with training camp less than two months away.

Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams are making a flurry of roster moves to reshape their 90-man roster as Phase III of the 2016 offseason rolls along.

We've already reported on some of the activity:

Signed DT Cam Thomas

He joins an interesting position group headlined of course by Aaron Donald.

Signed QB Dylan Thompson

The question is less of whether Thompson is a presumptive "camp arm" and more of whether the Rams needed one with Jared Goff needing all the experience he can get and a second-year Sean Mannion lost in the waves of the Sea of Fisherball.

Waived WR Stedman Bailey

Seriously, who isn't rooting for Steddy to make a comeback?

Here are the newer roster moves.

Signed TE Benson Browne

Browne was a blocking specialist (and that probably doesn't fairly convey how little he was used as a receiving target) at North Carolina State. He's a bit of a Justice Cunningham replacement, though with two drafted tight ends now on the books, Browne's in the practice squad battle.

Signed RB Terrence Magee

Magee's a compact running back who was a backup at LSU and spent last year on the fringe of the Baltimore Ravens' roster. If the Rams are looking for a smaller power back, Magee has some upside.

Released WR Kain Colter

Colter was signed back in early February. He was a long shot to make the roster, but with all the new wideouts heading to training camp both via the draft class and the UDFA crop, Colter was as unlikely as any name in the mix to make it to the regular season.

Released LB Zack Hodges

In the roster preview piece on Hodges published just yesterday, QBKlass gave him just a 2.5 out of 10 chance to make the roster with that sliver of hope based largely on his experience.

Apparently, that level of experience isn't counting for much at this stage.

Waived DL Doug Worthington

Worthington has bounced around the back end of NFL rosters for five years. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he latches on somewhere in 2016, and that somewhere could include LA if he clears waivers.
