Last week, we got the news that the Los Angeles Rams were working out UDFA QB Blake Frohnapfel. I closed that piece out by asking:
Does the tryout suggest something amiss with a Foles-Keenum-Mannion trio at least according to the Rams' front office?
That question gets new legs tonight as it's being reported that the Rams have signed QB Dylan Thompson:
Former #49ers QB Dylan Thompson is signing with the Rams today. More QB depth for when Nick Foles departs

Thompson was a UDFA following the 2015 NFL Draft who latched on with the San Francisco 49ers. Perhaps more relevantly, Thompson was the starting QB for the 2014 South Carolina Gamecocks for WR Pharoh Cooper's best season. Now as a fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft for the Rams, Cooper's performance in training camp and throughout the preseason is of immediate importance. Perhaps that helps justify Thompson's arrival.
Still...the bigger question remains. Even with Nick Foles likely to be cut/traded/whatever by summer's end while Case Keenum and Sean Mannion comprise for Goff's support group, is the Foles-Mannion-Keenum trio being broken up by Thompson's arrival?
