Fullbacks are a dying breed in the NFL. The Rams have not the carried one since 2010 back when Mike Karney was still with the Rams, back when Steve Spagnuolo was in charge.
As a 6'2", 225-pounder, Zach Laskey does not have a roster battle with other fullbacks, per se. He his the only pure fullback on the team. He does, however, have to prove he his a better blocker and more versatile than the current – de facto – "fullback," tight end Corey Harkey.
Laskey will be expected to prove he his worthy of a roster spot. He has plenty of work to do as he does play an extinct position. Head Coach Jeff Fisher has not carried a pure fullback during his tenure with the Rams. Laskey will have to add on value through special teams.
Chances of Making the Team (0/10)
Honestly, I just do not see Laskey making the team, even with special teams play. Harkey has done a great job as the lead blocker. It is very doubtful his spot is supplanted.
