2016 NFL Draft: Grading the Los Angeles Rams' Selection Of Temarrick Hemingway

The Rams took another TE with the 177th Pick. What do you think about doubling down at tight end?

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The offensive overhaul continues in the 2016 NFL draft.

With QB Jared Goff, TE Tyler Higbee, and WR Pharoh Cooper already in tow, the Los Angeles Rams doubled down on tight ends by selecting South Carolina State TE Temarrick Hemingway with their first of three 6th-round picks.

Grade: B

It's hard to fault the Rams for adding another target, but this crowds the depth chart a bit at TE for my liking - but then again I'm higher on Lance Kendricks than most other Rams fans.

According to his NFL.com draft profile, Hemingway is a TE/WR tweener who can be utilized to create matchup issues for the defense. At 6'5" and 245 pounds, he ran a 4.71 40 and has "legitimate separation quickness". Those are things that all sound fantastic when you consider how turrible the Rams offense was a year ago..
