A year ago in the 2015 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams' selection of Georgia RB Todd Gurley in the first round led to a trade between the Rams and the New York Jets for RB Zac Stacy, the player at the back of the depth chart pushed out by their first-round pick.
In 2016, it's happening again.
Source: Nick Foles to #Jets talks are happening. Period. Any denial of that from within organization is purposeful. #NFLDraft

Having taken Cal QB Jared Goff with the #1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Rams are in talks with the Jets over QB Nick Foles.
Foles came over to the Rams in a blockbuster trade with the Philadelphia Eagles which sent Sam Bradford to Philly and added an extra 2016 NFL Draft second-rounder for the Rams. It was that second-round pick, and the failures of the Rams' 2015 QBs, that led to the selection of Goff two days ago.
Foles received a contract extension in the 2015 preseason before taking an official snap with the team. The Rams have already paid out a $6m bonus to Foles, so he's cleared from a new employer having to pay that fee. His $1.75m base salary for 2016 is also locked in. It's his 2017 season, voidable based on performance factors, that's up for debate over what kind of compensation the Rams could get for Foles from the Jets.
Stay tuned. #yikesagain
