RB Isaiah Pead, one of the St. Louis Rams' three second-round picks in the 2012 NFL Draft along with Janoris Jenkins and Brian Quick, is signing with the Miami Dolphins:
Pead never really caught on in St. Louis under Jeff Fisher. He struggled to see the field in his first two years before an ACL injury in 2014 left him sidelined for the year. A late fumble in Week 1 last year against the Seattle Seahawks may have been the last straw before being released in late September.
Pead left the Rams racking up just 19 carries for 78 yards without any touchdowns.
He joins a Miami Dolphins team that has overhauled its RB depth chart. Three-year starter Lamar Miller is now with the Houston Texans while the Jacksonville Jaguars scooped Jonas Gray, Miami's RB3 last year. Back, though, is Jay Ajayi, the Dolphins' fifth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
