Los Angeles Rams’ GM Les Snead: “Keenum Is Going To Be Our Starter..."

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Most would agree the quarterback position is the biggest need for the Los Angeles Rams heading into the 2016 season.  The team currently employs Case Keenum, Nick Foles, and Sean Mannion.  And while just about every mock draft you’ll read has the team taking a QB while they’re on the clock in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft, the Rams continue to state Keenum is their starter.

This morning, while in Boca Raton, FL. NFL Network’s Erin Coscarelli caught up with Rams’ general manager Les Snead, who attempted to clarify the situation for draft prognosticators.

Case Keenum is going to be our starter at the beginning of the season.

This should probably be taken with a grain of salt.  Snead certainly wouldn’t be found saying the team is as unimpressed with the quarterback situation as the fan base is.  And, with just over a month left until the draft, he’s definitely not going to tip his hand as to who, or when, they might be targeting a QB.

But, there’s also a very strong chance he’s being honest with Coscarelli.  Like most rumors/smokescreens in March, it’s probably best to take caution in believing everything that’s said.  We’ll know more in late April, but for now the team stands firm that Case Keenum will be under center in September.
