The NFL owners meetings are officially under way in Boca Raton, as NFL owners, execs, GM’s, and coaches are set to discuss the pertinent topics - and potentially some rule changes - for the upcoming year.
The media will obviously not be far behind, ensuring fan bases are kept up to speed as news breaks. ESPN’s Nick Wagoner, who covers the Los Angeles Rams, hopped on a flight this morning, and is already breaking some free agency news...
Rams free-agent DT Nick Fairley on my flight to owners meetings this am. He tells me he's heading there to meet with the Patriots.

Fairley has been racking up some frequent flyer miles over the past few weeks, having drawn interest from the Saints, Eagles, and Jets, but has yet to sign a deal at any destination. If he sticks in New England, he’d be joining a familiar face in former Ram’s DE Chris Long, who signed with the Patriots less than a week ago.
But Wagoner also makes it clear the Rams are still interested.
Fairley has already visited with New Orleans and said he and Rams are still talking. Letting process play out.

For now, it’s a wait-and-see situation regarding the free agent defensive tackle. But if all goes well in New England, the Rams will need to look elsewhere for depth at the position. Stay tuned.
