2016 NFL Free Agency: Los Angeles Rams "Sitting Tight" At QB, No Roster Changes Expected

The Rams have said they're comfortable with the Keenum-Foles-Mannion trio. Is it time to start believing them?

In writing up the latest Colin Kaepernick rumor, I opened it with this paragraph:

The Los Angeles Rams are currently sitting on a QB trio of Case Keenum, Nick Foles and Sean Mannion. If the public comments of Head Coach Jeff Fisher and Les Snead are to be believed, they're comfortable riding that trio into the season and using free agency and the 2016 NFL Draft to improve the team elsewhere...much to the discomfort of a large portion of the Rams' fan base.

That certainly gets corroborated with this report from Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson:

After giving Case Keenum a first-round tender, the Los Angeles Rams are sitting tight with their current group of quarterbacks. Despite reports, they have not made a serious overture this week toward Griffin.

That first-round tender the Rams gave Keenum on Wednesday should tell you how serious they are about ensuring he's back in 2016. The real key is that this suggests the Rams aren't going to play with free agency at QB. The draft may be on the table, but if the report is to be believed there's no reason to any movement on the QB depth chart between now and April 28.

Sorry RGIII/Colin Kaepernick/Ryan Fitzpatrick/uh...Tavaris Jackson fans.
