2016 NFL Draft: The Los Angeles Rams Could Move Down In Round One

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

There’s no telling what the Los Angeles Rams will do when they’re on the clock [15th overall] in the upcoming 2016 NFL Draft.  And so we’re left to speculate...

On Wednesday, we discussed the idea of the Rams bundling their 4th and 6th round picks for a 3rd round pick from another team.  That would leave them with only five picks in the draft...but all of them within the Top 100.

Last night, we talked about moving up to get the player we covet most in the draft.  At 15th overall, getting the draft’s best anything will probably prove difficult.

That leaves us with another option, though.  And that’s what we’ll discuss this evening.  Both of the aforementioned moves had the Rams moving up in the draft.  But with only six picks, they’d better be hitting a home run on the pick they’ve moved up for.

What about trading DOWN?

Last year the Rams drafted Todd Gurley with the 10th overall pick...and I’m guessing that shocked about 100% of Rams’ fans.  They operated off their board, and they got their guy.  It paid off.

So maybe the guy they want most this year could be had a little further down in the first round.  It’s entirely possible a team would be willing to give up, let’s say, their 2016 second round pick in order to swap spots with the Rams in the first.

Is THIS your preference?

On Wednesday, we talked about 5 picks within the draft’s Top 100.  Yesterday it was coughing up more picks in hopes of drafting a slam dunk, stud player earlier in the first round.

But tonight, let’s talk about the Rams moving down in Round 1 and having THREE 2nd rounders [plus some, obviously].
