While the NFL Combine is officially underway in Indianapolis, we're barreling toward free agency opening on March 9 as well.
With the release of DE Chris Long, MLB James Laurinaitis and TE Jared Cook last Friday, the Rams plunged into the early FA waters head on (I guess you could mention the Kain Colter signing, but that was more of dipping a toe in to check the water). And with some key members of the secondary headlining the Rams' lengthy list of players with expiring contracts, it's no surprise that Rams players pop up early and often on SB Nation's top 100 free agent list.
Here are the eight 2015 Rams who made the top 100:
# | Name | POS |
---|---|---|
12 | Trumaine Johnson | CB |
18 | Janoris Jenkins | CB |
49 | Chris Long | DE |
63 | Rodney McLeod | FS |
64 | Nick Fairley | DT |
67 | William Hayes | DE |
78 | James Laurinaitis | MLB |
82 | Mark Barron | SS |
The cornerback duo is of course the headline story for the Rams in free agency. Both are consensus top CB options in FA this year, so it is going to take a pretty significant effort to keep them both along with McLeod as part of their hinted at package "Migos" deal.
What non-Rams would you like to see them go after in the top 100? Which of those eight names, besides Long and Laurinaitis obviously, would you be most comfortable parting with?
