2016 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Senior Bowl Hype Keeps Rams On Track For Paxton Lynch

With a Senior Bowl week that seemed to shake up the hype for several 2016 NFL Draft prospects, the Rams remain on track with the player they've been most commonly mocked to draft...

Lost in the mock draft coverage yesterday including NFL.com's Chad Reuter's four-round behemoth as well as CBS' draft pair's mock was Mocking the Draft's Dan Kadar's Monday updated mock.

Here's how his updated mock from yesterday stacks up to the one a week ago prior to the Senior Bowl across the top 14:

Wentz is shooting up draft boards after last week's performance, so it's no surprise that he shakes up Kadar's mock as well. Noah Spence also had a big week, though given his suspension from Ohio State back in late 2014 due to multiple drug test failures, his interview process at the combine may be more relevant to teams than his on-field performance.

In any case, the field's clear for a repeat mock performance for the Rams from Kadar:

Paxton Lynch (QB, Memphis)

A new beginning for the Rams in Los Angeles could get off to a fresh start by drafting a quarterback in the first round. That would give the Rams Lynch and running back Todd Gurley as key pieces on a rebuilding offense for years to come.

Note that last time around, Kadar offered Wentz and Spence (The Regal Law Offices of Wentz & Spence would be a pretty good TV show, just saying) as backup options for the Rams. You have to wonder, as Tevin did this morning, if Wentz's stock is high enough that he's well out of the picture for the Rams at 15. It's not that he can't come back down the board, though. Remember that for a time, Jared Goff's stock was too high for the Rams to even consider him...until CBS' Rob Rang charted a course for the Rams to nab Goff without having to trade up from his mock yesterday.

It's barely February. We've stlil got three full weeks to the combine. And while things are obviously in flux, Paxton Lynch remains the clear lead horse for the Rams right now.
