Just a few games left before we go bowling.
American Athletic Conference Championship
Temple (9-3) vs. #19 Navy (9-2) - 12:00pm ET, ABC
Head Coach Ken Niumatalolo has Navy playing some really good (albeit wacky) football. And shout out to Temple. Hell of a season for the Owls regardless of how this shakes out.
Rams fans should get a look in at OLB Haason Reddick. He could go as high as the 2nd round.
Conference USA Conference Championship
Louisiana Tech (8-4) vs. Western Kentucky (9-3) - 12:00pm ET, ESPN
Tech WR Carlos Henderson probably doesn’t fit the Rams’ offense, but he’s gonna be a piece for somebody in 2017 that fans will be eager to see. Think Pharoh Cooper.
WKU was supposed to have a down year after losing so much talent to the NFL, but they’ve handled 2016 extremely well. They don’t have a ton of NFL talent for next year, but peep WR Taywan Taylor. He’s a Day 3 prospect the Rams could get in on.
Big XII, uh, not conference championship
#10 Oklahoma St. (9-2) at #9 Oklahoma (9-2) - 12:30pm ET, Fox
Fix your damn conference, Big XII.
Bedlam’s always fun, regardless of the stakes. Extra intrigue for the college football landscape and the draft. OSU has one of the better NFL-ready QBs in Mason Rudolph along with about a half dozen other prospects led by WR James Washington.
OU’s Samaje Perine may get more statistical love, but don’t sleep on WR Dede Westbrook. He’s not going to win on physicality, but his athleticism could push him into the back of the first round.
SEC Conference Championship
#1 Alabama (12-0) vs. #15 Florida (8-3) - 4:00pm ET, CBS
Bama’s stacked. We’ve gone over this several times.
And Florida’s all defense. I don’t know that OLB Jarrad Davis will be there when the Rams are first on the clock, but if he is, he’s gonna be an option.
Mountain West Conference Championship
San Diego St. (9-3) vs. Wyoming (8-4) - 7:45pm ET, ESPN
The Aztecs have some NFL pieces. RB Donnel Pumphrey, G Nico Siragusa and CB Damontae Kazee all look the part. Pumphrey is a standout, but I’ve got concerns about him in the NFL.
Wyoming is less NFL prospect-laden, but RB Brian Hill is more of an NFL prospect than Pumphrey I’d argue.
ACC Conference Championship
#3 Clemson (11-1) vs. #23 Virginia Tech (9-3) - 8:00pm ET, ABC
Tons here. For Clemson, it’s led by QB DeShaun Watson, but WR Mike Williams isn’t far behind. CB Cordrea Tankersley and TE Jordan Leggett look like early options. There’s plenty more.
VT has a good dozen of NFL options as well. Given that we saw a seven-round mock with the Rams taking WR Isaiah Ford in the second round, this might be a good opportunity for those of you who haven’t seen him to get a look.
Big Ten Conference Championship
#6 Wisconsin (10-2) vs. #7 Penn St. (10-2) - 8:00pm ET, Fox
The college football playoff schedule coming on Sunday could hinge on the winner here.
From an NFL standpoint, Wisconsin LT Ryan Ramczyk is a legitimate second round option for the Rams if he makes it that far. PSU has much less NFL talent. Outside of WR Chris Godwin, I’m not sure they have someone for the Rams in 2017 aside from UDFAs.
