Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams Week 17 Win-Loss Predictions

New, comments
NFL: St. Louis Rams at Arizona Cardinals Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

The 4-11 Los Angeles Rams will play host to the 6-8-1 Arizona Cardinals Sunday afternoon. While the teams had differing expectations heading into the 2016 campaign, both will walk away with disappointing results following the season finale at the Coliseum.

For the final time of the 2016 regular season, here are your TST staff predictions.

I don't think the Rams have given up, but I think that many players want to escape the season without injury. The Rams will play hard but will play conservatively. We may see a few more Johnny Hekker tricks, and we may see Goff take more shots down the field, but the Rams are limping to the finish line.

After the last two weeks, the Rams players look finished. That's no fault to Coach Bones, but the players are done. After a season that started strong, Rams finish 4-12 and head into a what is going to be a long offseason with a lot of work to be done.

Morale at Ram's facility at Cal Lutheran is low, and that's a bad sign for the defense. It will need all the hype it can get to attempt to stop Arizona's David Johnson. Johnson leads the league in touchdowns (16 rushing, 4 receiving). I won't be surprised if his lead increases by at least two.

Rams lose...that simple. The Cards will carv up the Rams secondary and David Johnson will run it down their throats. Gurley will complete the season without a single 100 yard rushing performance and it will be Trumaine Johnson’s last game as a Ram.

The Rams will finish 4-12 and while they will win more games than the Browns and 49ers, it can be argued they will finish the season playing the worst football in the league.

It's tough to feel confident about the Rams. Carson Palmer has been better than has been said and will surely succeed against the Rams secondary.

So it ends. Die a slow death, 2016.

Goff and the Rams will ride off into the offseason sunset giving many fans a whisper of hope for the future. The defense keeps red hot Carson Palmer and David Johnson in check. Chants of "Stache" will be heard from the locker room.

The Rams have been playing ugly football since - well since the start of the season. Sunday will be no different and I get the feeling that this one is going to get ugly. Be sure to tune into that Bruce Arians presser after they stomp the Rams too. I’m sure he’s going to have a few jabs at former Rams coach Jeff Fisher too. Lord knows he deserves them.

I mean, the 49ers swept us.
