If you’ve watched the Los Angeles Rams over the course of the 2016 season, opening as a 6 point underdog at home seems a bit generous. They haven’t played competitive football in months and it’s pretty easy to argue that they have yet to play a complete game this season.
The over under for the game - depending on who you source - is either 40.5 or 41. That in and of itself is laughable. The Rams played the worst defense in the NFL last week and managed an offensive explosion of 21 points. That’s 9.3 points better than the 49ers average of 30.3 PPG.
While the Arizona Cardinals don’t have the same caliber of defense as they have in recent years, they still hold opponents to a relatively respectable 23.7 PPG. It’s tough to see the Rams approaching that number given that they let the 49ers keep them largely in check last week.
