Jon Gruden, the apparent “focal point” of the Rams search as of a couple of days ago, broke his silence on the rumors of him making it back to the sidelines. While people are divided (here and here), the man himself has spoken.
Jon Gruden is currently not interested in coaching.
"Right now I have no intentions of coaching," Gruden said. "I really enjoy what I'm doing. I feel like I'm really close to the fire, and I'm getting plenty of satisfaction out of doing what I'm doing."
With the Rams job coming open so quickly, the media is quick to point out potential candidates. Some have said Josh McDaniels is the true “top target” for the Rams, while others have pushed for Harbaugh, Shaw, and Pete Carroll.
While the Rams stance via COO Kevin Demoff is that a coach won’t be hired probably until “mid January”, the rumors of front-runners and “top candidates” will continue to run rampant (pun intended).
Whoever the Rams end up picking to lead their team into the 2017 season and beyond, may he bring years of success via a better offense, no excuses, and definitely no #7and9bullsh*t.
