LA Rams-Seattle Seahawks Intermediate Injury Report

Some concerns eased out, while others loom large for tomorrow’s final game report.

With the Los Angeles Rams facing a three-game runout to finish a wasteful 2016 season, first up is a nationally televised contest against the Seattle Seahawks. With an actual practice lining up to the intermediate injury report, this one’s unusually useful (let the post-Fisher realignment to normalcy begin...):

LA Rams Intermediate Injury Report - Week 15

Name POS Injury Mon. Status Tue. Status
Name POS Injury Mon. Status Tue. Status
Maurice Alexander S Concussion DNP DNP
Benny Cunningham RB Neck DNP DNP
E.J. Gaines CB Thigh DNP DNP
Matt Longacre DE Heel DNP Limited
Brian Quick WR Shoulder DNP Full
Robert Quinn DE Concussion Full Full

It would seem DE Robert Quinn would be able to pass the concussion protocol, but you wonder if it would be wiser to shut him down for the season.

With RB Benny Cunningham out, it was rookie WR Mike Thomas taking kickoffs. That injury replacement made an impact...on the opening kickoff.

And for CB E.J. Gaines, it’s been an injury-plagued return to the field after missing all of 2015. If fans can knock OL Rodger Saffold for his relative unreliability due to the injury red flags (and they can), it’d be fair to begin doing the same for Gaines moving forward. With some legitimate uncertainty facing the position depth chart heading into the offseason, I’d just suggest Gaines’ various lower body injuries throughout this season shouldn’t be brushed under the rug.

S Maurice Alexander should have the week off, whether he passes the concussion protocol or not. There’s no reason to press him into action in a meaningless game.

Here’s the Seahawks’ side:
