Los Angeles Rams rookie franchise QB Jared Goff is up for the Week 12 Pepsi Rookie of the Week for his performance in the Rams’ 21-49 drubbing at the hands of the New Orleans Saints.
Goff looked sharp beyond his inexperience in the first half finishing with a very impressive two-minute drive for his third passing touchdown of the day. The second half though saw the entire offense stall out similarly to Goff’s debut a week prior against the Miami Dolphins.
In the end, he finished 20/32 for 214 with that trio of touchdowns.
Also nominated this week:
- Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill: The speedster scored a receiving touchdown, a rushing touchdown and a return touchdown in the Chiefs’ drama-laden 30-27 overtime win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football.
- New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas: Across from Goff, the Saints stud rookie wideout caught nine passes for 108 yards and 2 TDs on the Rams’ vaunted defense.
- New England Patriots WR Malcolm Mitchell: Two of his five receptions went for touchdowns including the game-winner to help the Pats top the New York Jets.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneeers OLB Noah Spence: The one-time Ohio St. pass rusher was a terror for the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday helping limit them to just five points to ensure a victory for the Bucs.
