NFL Media’s Steve Wyche has a great longform article up about the Rams’ return to Los Angeles that’s worth your time (so is our podcast last week on which Wyche was our guest).
In it, he spoke to Los Angeles Rams Executive Vice President of Football Operations & Chief Operating Officer Kevin Demoff about Los Angeles, but also about Head Coach Jeff Fisher:
Everybody will want to judge Jeff through the prism of just the record, but that's totally unfair when you look at the set of circumstances he was handed this year.
...
To provide leadership and consistency, he's done a model job.
...
It's easy to talk about the record, but you have to take a snapshot of everything this year and give him the credit that he's due.
That’s not the way you’d talk about a head coach you’re planning on letting walk after the 2016 season. That’s the way you’d talk about a coach you want to re-sign.
That’s the way you talk when you don’t care about wins and losses.
Rams fans might want to get used to the idea that #firefisher is nothing more than a hashtag.
